Kayana Sessoms is a community engagement professional specializing in restorative justice and devoted to creating equitable spaces for all. With over 15 years of experience in designing culturally relevant, gender sensitive, and arts-centric community programming, Kayana has emerged as an integral contributor to neighborhood redevelopment in the Motor City. In her capacity as Program Director of Detroit’s Osborn Neighborhood Alliance, Sessoms has made arts accessibility a central component of ONA’s outreach and engagement efforts. Kayana is a 2017 Knight Foundation Emerging City Champion and was recently recognized as Skillman Foundation’s Most Influential Detroiter for 2018. Currently, Kayana is developing a community entrepreneurship program that provides emerging artists with the tools needed to create viable, sustainable businesses in their communities.
